Week 1 – Lydia’s Logs

Hello friends!

Welcome to the first entry of my blog – this particular collection will be titled “Lydia’s Logs”, as a nod to the infamous Lydia Deetz. Why is this Beetlejuice themed you may ask? Well this collection will be entirely dedicated to the unadulterated and uncut process of researching, writing, and filming my story of the restaurant BEETLEHOUSE, for “The Bull”. “The Bull” is Los Angeles Pierce College’s magazine which I am proud to be a part of this year. I am excited for you all to join me as I embark on this new journey into the field of journalism. This week consisted of writing up a new proposal draft as I was previously covering a different establishment. In addition to the draft I began my research, diving deep into the world of the macabre & Burton-esque horror. Luckily for me, the BEETLEHOUSE staff is relatively active on social media, so finding a way to get into contact with someone proved to be nearly no trouble at all. The goal for this coming week is to chat with a manager or two in order to see if I can work my way up to the owner. I would also like to get in touch with a performer to discuss having them feature in a multimedia piece! Wish me luck & thanks for tuning in this week!

Signing off,

Violet G.
